Christ said He would build His church, and He has built His church. And the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. But the church is under attack today. It is under attack from outside forces, who are mustering every energy to marginalize, and to silence, that which Christ is building. It is under attack from the inside, too. We live in an era where the things that the Bible has prescribed, and the things that God has commanded, are no longer considered sufficient. Times have changed, many are saying, and the church must change with them if we are to continue to be relevant. But no, Christ is building His church. It is His church, not ours, and He reserves the right to build it as He sees fit. The church is a divine institution. It is filled with sinners, but it is God-ordained, and Christ has purchased it with His own blood and is building it His way.
With that in mind, and seeking to know the mind of Christ and His plans for the church as informed by the Bible, the 2008 Quakertown Regional Conference on Reformed Theology is addressing the subject of the church. We want to proclaim what Christ proclaims about His church. This is our first conference, and what better subject to begin with than the church? What is the nature of Christ's church? What are the marks of the church? What is the unity of the church? How is ministry in the church to be done? And what is the future of the church? Through five plenary sessions and three Saturday afternoon seminar options, the subject of Christ's church will be thoroughly addressed.

Speaker Biographies
Rev. Richard Phillips is the Bible teacher of God's Living Word broadcast. Rev. Phillips also serves as senior minister of Second Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC and is chair of the Philadelphia Conference on Reformed Theology. An officer in the United States Army for thirteen years, Phillips commanded tank units and later served as assistant professor of leadership at West Point before resigning with the rank of major to enter the ministry. Rick is the author of numerous books, including, Holding Hands, Holding Hearts, Hebrews Reformed Expository Commentary, and Walking with God: Learning Discipleship in the Psalms.
Rev. Dr. Craig Troxel is the Pastor of Bethel Presbyterian Church (OPC) in Wheaton, IL and an adjunct professor in Systematic Theology at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. He is a graduate of Anderson University, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and Westminster Theological Seminary. Dr. Troxel is a past contributor to reformation21 and Modern Reformation as well as being published in Westminster Theological Journal, Calvin Theological Journal, Fides et Historia, Trinity Journal, and Presbuterion. He and his wife Carolyn, together with their five children live in Wheaton where they enjoy playing sports, reading books, and growing the ingredients for salsa in their garden.
Dr. Carl Trueman is departmental chair of Church History at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. He has an M.A. in Classics from the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. in Church History from the University of Aberdeen. He is editor of the IFES journal, Themelios, and has taught on the faculties of theology at both the University of Nottingham and the University of Aberdeen. He has authored a number of books, including The Claims of Truth: John Owen's Trinitarian Theology and The Wages of Spin: Critical Writings on Historic and Contemporary Evangelicalism. He lives in Oreland, a suburb of Philadelphia, with his wife, Catriona, and his two sons, John and Peter.
